Chinese hacking defenses: it's not your firewall.

By robo_dev ·
We all think of hackers pounding away at your firewall or web apps, looking for that one unapplied SSL vuln or that one overlooked patch.

But that's not your soft target.

It's the email account of your manager, your CIO, and your legal staff.

When the US Pentagon was hacked, was it through a firewall? A web-application breach?

The exploit was targeting of high-level of email users, using stealthy Trojan files.

So while we sweat and slave over firewall rules, web application security, and intruder detection systems, the fate of your whole network infrastructure rests in the hands of the individual who just got an e-card from a 'friend'.
