Chrome internet shortcuts got cut off
In Chrome, I use the 3 vertical dots on the upper right, then pick More Tools ->Create Shortcut->confirm or change the proposed name of the shortcut and press Create. Worked for ages and hundreds of links.
All of a sudden these indispensable links have become void, i.e. the only open Chrome to the standard Google search page. This is indeed a disaster, and after days seartching the net, I have found no explanation nor any solution.
Right-clicking on a fresh shortcut, I see something linke this on the TAB Shortcut
Target type:
Application
Target Location:
Application
Target:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome_proxy.exe” –profile-directory=Default –app-id=lgfpnfjfohddhclcoehedfpiomlnocej
Start in:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application”
Shortcut key:
None
Run:
Normal WindowWhen I look at a “broken shortcut” there is something MISSING
i.e. (in the above example) :
–profile-directory=Default –app-id=lgfpnfjfohddhclcoehedfpiomlnocejI have two questions:
1) what could have caused this
2) is there a way to recover the information I have lost?
