Cisco VPN / Win2000 Domain / No Share Access?

By frankg ·
I have a windows 2000 server, connected to a domain.

I use cisco vpn to connect to a clients corporate office to gain access to a satilite offces network.

let say a machine has the ip address of and a shared folder of backup.

when i use the vpn on a windows xp box not on the domain i can enter the address...

and access the share for sending and recieving files.

if i use the same vpn and profile on the windows 2000 box on the domain and try the same share it will time out. and never let me in.

If i take that 2000 box off the domain and use a workgroup instead, the share will work, but I no longer can access the shares on the windows 2000 server box with out alot of entering user names and passwords..

here is the question...

Can i make this work and leave the 2000 box on its domain, and still access the share?
