Clearing unsent email in Outlook Express

    Locked

    by james goerke ·

Here’s the problem, I have a client who uses Outlook Express as their e-mail program. Everything is fine, all the settings are correct, and they can send and recieve e-mail just fine. About a year ago they sent an e-mail to someone but mistakenly forgot to put the “@aol.com” part on and it didnt send it. Problem is that every time they start Outlook it tries to send this e-mail but gives them an error that says they cant. The error is rather annoying but I didnt see any section that allowedme to clear unsent e-mails or anything of the sort. So, my question is, how can I clear this e-mail from the “to be sent” sections so it doesnt try to send the e-mail anymore? Or, if there is another way to take care of the problem I am up for that as well. Thanks!

Is the Email still listed in the outbox? Deleting it from there should clear up this problem.

IF the above answer fails, then do a search for outbox.* . Look for the approptiate box .. should be dbx, idx,and/or mbx ..
rename it to outbox.old and restart the mail program …… If the client has any queued mail, they will lose it, so have them send mail first.
