Client Control over win2000 professional

By fabioyogi ·
I'm looking over internet trying to find a tool that could help to make user`s desktop not install programs and change the settings on control panel using local administrative account! is this possible or I should use for network users a domain account to log on their own desktops?

Client Control over win200 Pro

Yes, you can assign user right on the domain for not being able to install programs and change the settings on control panel. However, if they have admin rights to their local machines and log in to their PCs as workstation only, they have full control over the workstations. That means they can instal programs or change the settings on control panel...This is the area that you should concern about. You can give them power user right for that local pc for example. With power user right, a user cannot install programs which can alter the registry. Hope this helps
