Combat flight Sim 2 will not play

Previously had installed on same computer(dell 8200 inspiron laptop), XP home. CFS2 ran with no problems. Uninstalled and later wanted to play again. Re-installed and now will not boot up any further then the opening video. I have re-installed many times with no success.

Cuold be a number of things I have run CF2 on XPhome without problems My first guess is DX9 directx9 in not very backwards compatible with some older games if you have upgraded from DX8 to DX9 this could be the problem.

Create a current restore point. Then restore from a point before the original installation of CFS2 and reinstall CFS2. This might help.

Side note: I prefer Fighter Ace 3.6 from VR1.com. They've got a demo download for it also.
