Command or Process on AIX 4.3

By gsanchez ·
Does anyone know if there is a command or process for the UNIX AIX 4.3 OS that will allow me to view the version number of executables on the host? I am aware of the nm command, but that shows me the version number of the objects that make up that executable, not the executable version itself.

Command or Process on AIX 4.3

the what command may or may not be what you're looking for. it searches the file for SCCS tags and prints them.
on the other hand, if you're looking for release version (eg. you want to verify that you've got version 4.1.4.1 of 11.Dt.lib installed), the lslpp command is your friend.
