Command Prompt

I was troubleshooting my connection because it doesn’t work, when the Windows Help center told me to
“Open run
Type cmd
Type ipconfig /release
press ENTER”

And I did. And it said that
“‘ipconfig is not recognized as an internal or external command, opperable program or batch file”

What am I doing wrong?
