company email problem

recently my company received many calls from customers that they are unable to send email messages to any of our company email addresses..

can anyone help me quick with this one?its urgent..thx in advance

Check your email server. Try sending a message from outside your company to yourself.

You could also find out what exact error is reported in the non-delivery message your customers receive.

Check that the domain name of the company is resolved correctly and that the MX records point to the right servers: go to, type in the domain into the field DNS Lookup and select MX from the dropdown list, click Lookup and inspect the report.

One scenario is that one of the workstations in your company is infected by a virus and/or it may have sent spam messages, causing someone to report the IP address of your mail server which has subsequently been blacklisted.
