I am on windows 95 and using pkzip and copied my system.dat and user.dat files so I had a copy of my registry. I can zip my user file just fine but everytime I go to compress the system file I get a screen saying nothing to do. I have changed the names of my copied files to user.old and system.old and also selected the appropriate properties for the two files. How do I manipulate the file so it is compressable? I would like a copy of my registry that I can keep on a disk.
