Computer Management

When trying to connect to another computer in Computer Management, I get an error. The error is: Computer \\computername cannot be managed. The network path not found. I have tried to do this from the DC, member server and a client. All three give me the same message. Can someone help?

Make sure the RPC service is up and running on the machine you are trying to connect to. Won't work without it.

Also make sure you have rights on that machine.

If the machine is not win2k or nt it won't work.

Good luck

I know this may seem silly. But what is the RPC service. And is it something that is on Win2000 Pro machines. When you say rights on the machine, exactly what rights do I need. I am logged on as admin on the DC and Memeber Server when trying toconnect to a PC. All pcs are Win2000 machines. Also could you tell me how to get the RPC up and running? Thanks.
