Computer Opens to My Docs Upon Boot Up

Ever since I reinstalled Windows 2000 my computer opens up the My Documents folder. I have clicked that option under the start up menu and restarted and did the reserve. I think it may have something to do with the fact I may have had my documentsopen when I re-installed 2000, but am unable to reinstall 2000 now as it says I have some software that is not totally installed. How do I track down this software? and how do I stop the My Docs opening upon start up?
