I am attempting to configure a Sun Netra t1 server using a Sun Ultra 10. The machines are connected using a null modem cable from port b on the ultra to serial port a on the netra. I try to tip to the netra in order to perform a stop-a while the netra is booting so I can give it an ip address etc. However the tip connection does not work although the settings in /etc/remote appear to be ok.
The problem is that in the tip session I cannot enter a hash symbol (pound symbol inthe U.S., i.e.#) after the tilda (~). This command in a tip session ~# performs the stop-a command on the remote machine,
I have applied patches to the ultra to allow alternate break sequences but these methods have failed so far.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
