By wrhale_1 ·
Where in 98 can you configure a specific font that will be used regardless of what program/app
is used? Thanks for help.

Configure System-wide font?

by TheChas In reply to Configure System-wide fon ...

I have been thinking about this all day.

While drastic in nature, and I am sure this will cause some other problems, the best idea that I have is to un-install all other fonts.

In reality, you will probably need around 30 to 50 fonts installedto deal with things like toolbars and textboxes.

Beyond forcing a system-wide font, there are other advantages of removing extra fonts:

1. System resource usage will be lower as each installed font takes up some resources.

2. If the font isnot installed, the users cannot change to an alternate font.

I am not sure how this will affect reading documents written using fonts that are not installed.

Thank you, but there must be a setting somewhere to set the font that Windows will use as a default.
