It’s not possible to join in 2 distinct domains.
Why don’t you try a trust between domains. It can be easy if you have the same forest.

You can have two Domain Controllers on the same domain, one per location and control synchronisation using AD Sites and Services over a modem, ISDN, ADSL or leased line if you wanted.

I had this challenge earlier this year. I have a domain at home, and I use my laptop at work, where I manage another domain.

Simple solution? Not really. But I can still access everything I need to access at work on my laptop because I am the administrator and have full access to set security rights on anything.

For e-mail, on our exchange server, I’ve enabled IMAP and I just connect Outlook that way, if that’s one of your challenges.

The only way I was able to connect to the domains was to actually join each domain every day, which is a complete pain in the ass. No thanks!

What is it that you’re trying to accomplish?

        Join and rejoin?

        Hello,
I know this is old question, hopefully somebody still monitors it.

I notice that when we join a winxp pro to more than one domain, there will be a list at the logon screen which domain we want to logon. Correct?

I notice however, when we try to logon to the domain that we are not currently joined, it is not possible.

So the conclusion: is it really impossible to use the domain list in the logon screen? We need to join and rejoin the domain we want to logon?

        Domain list in logon screen

But, how about the domain list in the logon screen? Can’t we select the domain we want to?

The domain list is only available if the active directory structure has multiple domains within it.

join the xp clinet to any one DC

add DNS forward in both DC
