Has anyone connected legacy AS400 databases on the backend to Unix/Linux & Apache web servers on the front end for the web? We have two sets of web servers, one being an AS400 for dynamic look ups and the other being the Apache box. I want to intergrate them more and pull data from the AS400 to the Unix box and update information as well. I’m fairly certain this can be done and just want to know which works best and which does not. Will PHP, ASP, XML, SQL and various others work in doing this? Any success stories and tips will help, I’m closing the gap between our front end design and backend design teams.
