Connecting to Internet issue

By jran42 ·
I'm currently running a desktop with Windows 7 that one day wouldn't connect to the Internet. I have tried rebooting in safe mode, I have tried unchecking IPv6 in the adapter properties. Obviously I have tried windows diagnostics... Many many times. More information. My network always shows up as unidentified network and public network. My desktop also has a wireless adapter which shows available networks and I can connect to my routers network but the network shows up the same as my local connection.... Unidentified.... I've tried changing my Mac address as some forums talked about that and that didn't work.... Some said that the actual adapter card could be no good so I had a USB adapter available and tried using that to connect with no avail. I've tried various resets in the cmd prompt per other forums but nothing seems to have worked. Does anyone have any other ideas out there? I forgot to mention that every other device in my house connects to the Internet just fine.
