Connecting two Lans

By rathin ·
Hello,

I have two LANs with seperate IP series, how do i make both networks talk to each other.

LAN setup:

LAN 1:
172.1.1.1 to 172.1.1.15 having subnet mask 255.255.0.0 connected to Switch 1

LAN 2:
150.1.1.1 to 150.1.1.30 having subnet mask 255.255.0.0 connected to Switch 2

How do i make these LAN to talk to each other?

Thanx in advance.

Rathin

You need a router or a another pc with two two network interfaces.

Get a router

If the two network segments are in the same building or within reasonable proximity of one another make the routers (I'm assuming each network controls it's traffic with a router) enable some static routes between the two devices.

If the networks are in separate locations, I strongly suggest lan-to-lan vpn.

Good luck!
