Continuous directory export

We have a Exchange 5.5 sp4 which is continuously exporting the directory : application information
event 38 & 41, MsExchangeDsExp.
It is an information event, but other Exchange servers in other sites don’t show this behaviour, except one in the same site. It looks like some sort of replication, but why ? Cannot find a setting, but the server seems quite busy.
