Convert midi to wav?

By galahad04 ·
Hello,

Could anyone point me to a downloadable freeware/shareware program for Windows 9x/ME that can convert midi files to either .wav or mp3 format? (**.wav is preferred**)

Thanks

I appreciate the quick reply! Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, however, after downloading a shareware version of Cool Edit 2000 and playing with it, I discovered that it could convert sound file formats but not from midi to wav. (When I tried to do so, the resulting converting file only played a few seconds of a static-like noise.) But thanks again for trying to help!

Thank you for your suggestion and advice. Regrettably, however, my computer does not have a CD-recordable device (although I do have a Zip drive), so I don't think this solution would work out.

Don't know if it converts MIDI, but you can try CDEX. It is free from Cnet.com. I think it might.

Thanks for your helpful input. Although the program appears to be very useful, after downloading and installing it, it did not appear to be able to convert midi to wav though.

Thank you for looking up all of the above links. Although again this did not solve my original problem (converting midi to wav), I am rating this answer as "acceptable" due to the large effort put in to researching all the above resources.

Why don't you just hit the record button on the sound recorder that comes with windows?
