copying files from one server to another

We have recently built a new NT4 server to replace our old one. We have incorporated larger drives into this server. We would like to copy data from the old drives to their new designated locations on the new drives over the network. Will it be okay that the partitions on new server are not the same and are not named the same as the old? Any tips on this? Thank you.
