Corporate Email Policy...

By alistair ·
I just read the recent email from Techrepublic with regards to corporate email policies. Many American companies operate with sites based in many countries. Why can't the recommended policies take into account the monitoring laws which exist in manyof these countries. Ie. It is illegal to monitor or read employees email in France. Even if you have the employees permission. Lets start thinking more on a global basis!

The policy in France exibits respect for the individual. Something about that rings a bell associated with the founding fathers of America. Trust, Integrity, Courage are in short supply in a lot of "corner offices" as recent headlines demonstrate. If you don't trust an employee, don't hire them. If you don't trust any employee, get out of management.
