Cost to create a food delivery application like Uber Eats

By webcluesindia ·
In this time of COVID-19 social distancing is the norm. This has affected the dine-out business of the restaurant and also the experience of delicious restaurant food for the customers. To make up for this fact the need for food delivery app has increased tremendously as it is possible to deliver contactless delivery to the foodies.

So how can I develop a Food Delivery Application like Uber Eats?

I take it you are going for the scale and size of Uber Eats so this is not something easily cloned for a few thousand bucks. You are talking millions to get this across a country like the USA or Canada.

Also this will be a large scale project with hundreds of employees as we see over at Uber.

Frankly I would not do this since for all of 2020, Uber's net losses amounted to $6.77 billion, around a 20% improvement from a staggering $8.51 billion loss in 2019.

Depending on the features you are looking to add in your on-demand food delivery mobile app and the resources that it would require to get your app transformed from its idea stage to the launch phase, the cost of developing a food-delivery app like UberEats or GrubHub would come out to somewhere around $30,000 to $40,000*.

That's just the app. Another million to scale up and

But don't fib about it being on the scale with those other systems.

You omitted the work, backend systems as well as getting Taco Bell and other companies to work with your new app.

Today? Figure a billion dollars to get to where Uber and Grub are.

Midrange amount, I guess?

The features included in the food delivery app are largely responsible for its price. The average restaurant's online ordering software is likely to cost between US $12,000 and US $25,000 depending on what other features they want or need with their program. A more sophisticated app that also includes the restaurants' own system will be much pricier at about USD$40k per project

Why omit the cost of the backend?

Also, why an app when a web page will do and every smartphone today has a web browser?

You're going to have to create the backend so why the app first?
