First of all I’d like to say i am no PC technician so please forgive my lack of knowladge.I bought a cheap set up from the local pc supplier about 4 months ago.
Spec:
mobo : msi (ms-7267)
bios :AMI BIOS VER. 5.6 (2007.08.02)
processor :core2duo 6300 @1.86
mem/ram :2048 mb
OPERATING SYSTEM : WINDOWS XP PRO (SP2)
My problem is that the cpu clock randomly drops to 930 MHz,1396 MHz and so on.I took it back to the supplier and after a pain staking process on trying to convince them that there was something they eventually swapped out the mother board for a new one but same model.
The results were as follows:
Cpu clock ran stable @ 1.86 GHz but the temperature went from about 27 deg Celsius to 48 degrees Celsius (CPU).After taking it back to the supplier and waiting about a month for the repair I got it in the same condition, but now it drops once again to 930MHz and runs at 48 degrees Celsius!
I have been having world war 3 the supplier who now seems completely uninterested in helping me so I turn to you guys for some sort of solution or advice.
Also I have disabled speed stepping and anything else that might govern the CPU….I think.
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
