It seems that Blackberry and the push service is firmly established in the cell phone market. But I have to ask is it really a need anymore?
I understand the technology and the fact that the Blackberry service uses push technology to push your emails to your device. Its good its fast its efficient, but is it needed? The Blackberrry service was a revolution in portable email technology because their was nothing in place to get mail to the cell phone, then.
But now with unlimited internet access for your phone that allows the user to use more conventional software, like MS-Outlook, I have to ask why should I pay the extra fee for Blackberry?
So my buddy, who just so happens to work for Verizon has a Verizon phone with the Blackberry service.
I on the other hand have an AT&T 8125 and I use Outlook to pull down mail from multiple email boxes. Outlook is set to check for mail evey minute.
So I have to ask why would I go with a Blackberry where I would have an additional fee to pay. When I can do the same with just simply a mail client and the unlimited internet access I have now?
