Create a Outlook Bar Shortcut to another

By rodeo ·
Hi everyone!
I have a user who regularly opens up another users calendar in Outlook 2000. Rather than have the user continuously click FILE|OPEN|OTHER USERS FOLDER and then type in all the necessary info. I would like to create an Outlook Bar Shortcut that when the user clicks on it it will open the other users calendar automatically.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I could not find a way to create the Outlook bar shortcut like you were wanting. I'm not sure it can be done. However, you can have the other user's calendar pop up with Outlook if you will shutdown Outlook using FILE/"EXIT AND LOG OFF". This will cause any open folders to re-open when Outlook is started again. If you close Outlook by hitting the upper right "X" or FILE/EXIT you will have to shut down all open folders one by one and only Outlook by itself will start the next time you open it. Hope this is understandable and hope it helps.

Assuming you are using Exchange Server, do the following: in Outlook, go to Tools/Services, click Microsoft Exchange, click Properties, click Advanced, click Add and type the other user's mailbox name. Click OK on everything and close Outlook. Reopen Outlook and you will see the other user's mailbox and any folders you have access to on the Outlook folder list. From there, simply right click the Calendar folder and add it to the Outlook Bar as you would any other folder. If you're not usingExchange, I don't know of any way to do this. Hope this helps!

If you are using Exchange you can set up the calendar in a public folder and set the permissions so only these two users may access it, you can also set it up so only the owner can edit it and delete.
