Creating a Global Address Book in Exchange

    Locked

    by ladyvjf ·

    Hello All,

I work for a small company and they want us to have one global address book for everyone to be able to view and see, also add to. I tried looking on Microsoft’s site but didn’t find a how to on global address books.

I want to create a list in exchange named “Marketing Contacts” then be able to add contacts into the list and have all within a certain group access them and be able to add to it afterwards. We are working with Outlook 2007.

Any helpful words for a newbie?

Go into Active Directory, create a new Distribution List, add Members, and go into the Managed By tab. Add the members that you want to give the rights to maintain the list.

      Done.

I thought a Distribution list was for more sending out mail. I am looking for something that I can add contacts to a list and then have everyone have the ability to view the contacts and email them individually if they need to. Will a distribution list work for this?

Thanks so much for your reply!
