Creating rule to redirect email

By ChrisSaw ·
Hi there,
I have an AD with E2K. All workstation are on W2K or XP Pro. Office 2003 is installed on each PC.

I want to create a rule for that will transfer all email from inbox to another email address outside the company.

I already created a lot of rules like that in the past and it was working. I don't know if its a bug between Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2000, but when the user receive the email, the rule is applied but nothing is received at the other address. There is no error message or any messages.
Any idea?

I don't think you need to create a rule to accomplish this. The steps is outlined
1)create a new contact with the e-mail of the forwarding address of the recipient.
2)Open the properties of the user whose mail you want forwarded /properties(NB open advance properties)
3)I do not recall the exact dialogue but I think it is in Exchange advance. From here look in delivery options and here you can redirect mail to the address of the contact you created. You have another option to redirect mail to external address only or to both addresses ie You exchange store and your external address. That option is yours.I will repost the exact interfaces when I am on my ESM.Hope this helps.

Step 2 above.Open DSA.msc.Open The user properties whose mail you want redirected/Exchange General/Delivery options.
3)In Forwarding Address option/Enable forward and browse to the external contact you created earlier.
4)To ONLY redirect do not check deliver to forwarding address and mailbox
Hope this helps.
It is working internally and externally from me.
