Crystal Reports Cross-tabs

By mdeans ·
I have a user trying to create a cross-tab in Crystal Reorts. The information across the columns is divided first by person, then by quarter. The rows are procedures.

We would like to have the ability to select one quarter (say Q1-1999) and showthe total number of procedures for Q1, and the OVERALL total for that procedure by person. Make sense? How do I help her?

Your response is greatly appreciated!

I would create formulas to calculate what you want that are seperate from the Cross-Tab and add the formulas near the Cross-Tab with labels where you want them. SubReports come to mind also. You may need to use unlinked SubReports. You mention to "select" one quarter, you can do this with an On-Demand SubReport

The generality here is to create each result you want seperately with out reliance on any other result unless it is naturally given. Such as if your Cross-Tab was organized by quarterthen by person rather than by person then by quarter your first question would be a given with in the cross-tab totals.

The first answer looks good to me. If that doesn't work, try something else. Hope this helps.
