Customise toolbars in IE 5.5

By cnwoods ·
Does anyone know how I can add a button to one of the IE toolbars? I'm running IE5.5 on Windows ME, and my isp did all the usual tricks with plastering their name & homepage of choice onto my browser. As soon as I took them away, I lost the ability to get a popup progress window of how much time I've spent online (I use prepaid services, because they don't drop me off as often). I have the url for the page, but my links and favourites are already setup pretty much at optimum, so I don't wantto go that way, plus ideally I'll need to run a script to enter logon id & password to access this thing. I have a whole toolbar of buttons from external programs like msn, realplayer, yahoo, copernic etc, and it has room, but how do I get in to create the thing?

PS. I have xteq but the custom button feature in that would need the switches to open a new window & specify the url, which I don't know.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You add a button as follows:
1) right-click an unoccupied portion of a toobar, and select customize.
2) Find the option you want to add, then click add.
3. Click OK

This will only work if the popup is in the list of available toolbar functions.

Good luck.

Thanks, but it isn't one of the options. I'm probably looking for a VBA procedure, rather than something within the normal parameters of the program.
