Damaged Files

Is there a way to repair damaged Excel 2000 files? We receive a message unable to read file when we try to open. The file contains pivot tables. SR-1 and SP2 have not been applied to this Office install yet.

Hello,

Under the Help menu there is an option for Detect and Repair. You may want to try this first before you install the service packs. If that doesn't work, install both packs and try the detect and repair again.

Good Luck

Thanks for the suggestion but the Detect and Repair is for Office Installs not individual files. At least that is how I see it. I believe Office XP may have a way to repair files that have been damaged.
