I have just received by email a temporary password for TechRepublic. The story is that I had requested it, which I had not. I was encouraged to use TechRepublic’s tool to change my password to something more memorable. I have just logged on to TR and got into Discussions without having to use my password. I conclude that I have been sent an attempt to discover and somehow misuse my TR account. I can’t imagine any commercial reason for logging into TR under someone else’s name, so I suppose it’s some TR member who wants to do petty, nasty things.
