Why wouldn?t Linux devlopers build-in a utility to convert their ?customers? WinX data to Linux compatible?

I've never had trouble transporting "Data" from OS to OS. Programs now are a different story.

Ms keep changing the formats, they are chock full of proprietry binary stuff.

Don't forget MS's definition of interoperable generally only includes with other windows stuff....

Why don't MS store their data in standard open formats so developers could add the feature you desire is a better question.

The answer is because while you want it, linux developers want it, they don't.They don't want you to use Linux.
