data format in MS Query

By Pilar_A ·
Hi, This is a weird question and we haven??t been able to find an appropriate response in any forums.

We received a database, originally in MS Query, for use in Stata. Some of the variables included in the database are dates, for example date of birth, or the date the person entered the system. The person that gave us the data can see it in the correct format (Year/Month/Day, and Time), but in the file that we received the date information appears as a 13-digit number, for example 1408905054000.

We asume that the format is some internal code the program uses, but we are not able to translate it to date format and we don??t have MS Query. We tried with some of the characters in Access and Excel, but it doesn??t work.

Do you know how we can translate the 13-digit number to a date?

Many thanks!
