I want to make a communications program for MS-DOS using Qbasic. can you tell me how to write this program? the program must write to a file on an FTP site and it must read from a file on an FTP site. It is best if I can have the program itself. Or better yet, how do I make it so that I can treat an FTP site as a physical drive recognized by dos. Please note that I want to do this without any external drivers required (except modem drivers) and I dont want it to require external programs either.

There is a program called Internet Neighborhood, which you can download from:

http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10064-100-6733922.html?tag=st.dl.10001-103-1.lst-7-12.6733922

(no spaces or line breaks in the url)

This program lets you browse ftp sites as if they were local folders. (The download is a 30-day demo. The program costs $29.95.

Writing this yourself is a major project.

Good luck.

If you're willing to use VB instead of QB, it would be a snap.

Windows2000 let's you browse FTP sites directly from the file Explorer (not IE) as if they were local folders.
