I am trying to uninstall Front Page Server Extensions from my NT server. However, I get an error message that the file data1.msi is not a valid source. I have tried several various versions of this file from various CDs to no avail. I cannot find the original CD our consultant used.

Is there a way to uninstall the product without this file (with some Registry edits for example). Thanks for your assistance.

If the normal uninstall routine won't work correctly (for whatever reason), your only choice is to manually delete the files (if you know where they are all located) and then run a Registry search to try and clean out all references to the program you deleted.

This procedure is not for the faint-hearted and has great potential to corrupt your entire NT installation. Before you attempt this, make sure you have a good backup of all critical data and a recent ERD (or even better, if you keep multiple versions of the ERD for this server, one from before your installation of the program you are removing).

Good luck.
