database is to enter the data in to the table wnd we can enter the same data in ms-word ,excel also then why there is a need to use database.

there is a huge amount of data to sort through, it is quicker! excel is good for a small amount of data, access is good for medium/small, databases are lightning fast for large amounts of data....

When you have more than one table

and want to compose information from more than one at a time.

When you want to impose some data specific rules and structure.

When the table is damn big.

Don't confuse the nice columnar layout in the document, with an ordered and constrained rule based set of cohesive data.

You can go from database table to presentation in a tabular layout very easily. The other way round, that runs from irritaing to impossible.

What will you do when you have multi-dimensional OLAP Cubes? what then? you can not do that in excel or word.
