Database backup, Oracle 9i RAC

If you could recommend the best backup solution for Oracle 8-9i databases using tape library. we seems to have a lot of problem using veritas. Backup is so unstable.

Also, we are in the midst of testing oracle 9i RAC. Tell me what or how
can I test it?
