I’m currently looking for a dependable, cost effective, autoloader for our server here. The WinNT4Server/70gig array is about 2/3 full, and I’m currently running a Tecmar drive(single tape DDS-3…24gb)w/Veritas Exec 7.3. On fridays the drive is scheduled for its “normal” backup. The problem is: its taking up to 3tapes for the process.Hence, forcing me to come in on Saturdays to moniter the darn thing and change tapes.
My question: can i just add an “autloader” to my internal Tecmar? Should I just consider moving to the DDS-4 instead?
And which products should I be looking for?
