Default text size in Outlook E-mail window

By bitbob ·
Looking for a Registry setting that will allow me to set the text size in the seperate E-mail reading window for an end user who needs larger text and hates to keep using the text size tool every time they open an E-mail. Is there such a default setting in the registry??? Thanks.

It's an Options setting within Outlook.
Not sure about a Registry edit exactly, but if this won't work let me know and I'll try to come up with one.

In Outlook, go to Tools and select Options.
Click the Mail Format tab.
In the Stationary and Fonts section, click the Fonts button.
There you will find three places where font size and style can be set. The third one is for email being composed or read in plain text.

This, of course, will only have bearing on emails composed and received in Rich Text formay rather than HTML. With HTML formated email, the HTML code determines the font size.

One forum I read when looking for an answer to this question stated that HTML email settings are controled by the IE7 browser settings. Of course, that only worked for HTML email received, so I kept looking. Perhaps a combination of all of these tricks would work for this particular user.

So I also tried setting up the text size in IE-7 but it has no effect on the E-mail HTML reading window. Any other ideas?

Zoom

Control + scroll wheel or go to View->Zoom in the body of the email itself. That changes the zoom in the body of the email without changing the font that it is delivered in, and the setting should save.

I have a mouse with 5 buttons. Each is programmable. I have one of the thumb buttons set to bring up a magnification "window" which follows the cursor, much like a magnifying glass held in your hand would work. It's an on/off thing. Click, it's on. Click, it's off.

If you can't find any other solutions, you might suggest the user get their eyes checked. There's just so much one can do before they finally have to break down and get glasses.
