Delete: URL, dll, protocol files, etc...

By FragilePhases ·
I would like to inquire about learning the easiest way to delete the above name files and any others that might link to the option to withhold the main user. A recent ex, added the option to my pc without my approval and I have expirenced several problems resulting from his secrets. So I am wondering if you could tell me the eaisiest details on how to rid the pc normal again.

Thanks
FP :)

It is not wise to randomly delete dll and protocol files.
You need to know what programs use the files, if the file is "registered" in the system registry, etc.

As to url files, they are simply links to web sites. Depending on what operating system, and browser you are using, they are stored in different places.

The simplest way to delete url files, is to use the clear history and temporary or "cache" files from the options menu of your browser.

As to the dll and other files for whatever software was installed;
First see if you can find the software listed in add/remove programs, or if there is a remove option for the software in the menu for the program.

Otherwise, could you provide more information on the program, or the problems that you are having.

If the program requires a password, you may need to erase the hard drive and re-install all of your software to remove the program.
