deleting large email

a user has created a 6mb email (pictures) and tried to hung for 24 hours "preparing to send" .. managed to as I thought stop it and delete it, but it has reappeared in the outbox and I cannot find anyway of deleting it

Do you have webmail? That is an easy way to delete messages stuck in the outbox. Log into the users webmail account and delete the e-mail.

Visit the site for Contact Plus, makers of Spambusters, and download and install Spambuster, a free utility for filtering out junk email OR deleting email messages causing problems with your email delivery. When you install it you can opt to not have it start automatically or to filter email. You can use it solely for deleting "stuck" messages and it works great for that. Of course you can use it for filtering spam too if you like. Go to

Unless you have Exchange going to the WebMail client will be worthless as the Outbox will not show in that venue (using IMAP or POP). If you are using the Outlook client, bring up the application and select File/Work Offline. This will stop the client from trying to send anything from the Outbox. At that point you can go to the Outbox and delete the message. This process may apply to other mail clients as well(Mozilla,...) I hope this helps. srk
