Deleting of unwanted programs

by graja . Updated 18 years, 8 months ago

When I recently went into control panel to add/delete programs, I came across the following programs which I feel must have got hosted accidently since I had not loaded the same. I am afraid to delete them lest my system crashes again. These are the types

1. Windows installer 3.1 (0.5 MB)
2. Windows XP- Hotfix KB 842773 and similar serial nos- almost 8 to 10 nos(each 0.06MB)
3.Update for Windows XP KB 835409 and similar serial nos – 4 nos. (each 0.5 MB)
4. Security update for windows media player8- 1 No(KB 917734)
5. Security update for windows XP KB896423 and similar sl.nos 22 nos.(each 0.55 MB)
6.Update for Windows XP- KB 835409 and similar sl. nos – 4 nos (each 0.55 MB)

Shall be grateful if someone could throw some light on the appearance of these programs and whether simply selecting and deleting the same will cause a system failure
