Dell Latitude D600 Wireless Network Adapter Uninstalls

by gmlcinc . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

I actuall yhave two issues with this laptop I recently got on ebay. It was working fine at first. Recently though it started giving me problems booting. It powers up, lights start flashing and fan comes on, but the screen would stay blank. I have to hit ctrl alt del and then it will boot fine. I have tried holding the power button and just pushing it but nothing seems to help.

The other problem is with the wireless network adapter. Sometimes, not always, when the laptop boots the first thing that comes up is the screen for new hardware installation. It says there are two new pci devices that need to be installed. The one is the wireless adapter and I’m not sure, but the other must be some other network adapter. The adapter I have is the Intel Pro/wireless LAN Network 2100 3A mini pci adapter. I’m going to see if I can find new drivers now, but I doubt that’s the issue with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
