Deploying Outlook 2000 Group Policy

by dgabbard . Updated 23 years, 8 months ago

Trying to deploy outlook with a group policy using the MSI provided by Microsoft and creating an MST file using the custom installation wizard.

Here is what works.
We use RIS to install Windows 2000 Pro.
We use Group Policy to deploy office without Outlook.
We use Group Policy to deploy Outlook. In the MSI we supply %FULLNAME% to automatically fill in the current user’s name.

The kicker is…it works for the first person that logs on to the PC. If someone logs on to the same PC it does not resolve %FULLNAME%

The policies are machine policies.

Servers are Windows 2000 of course and the Clients are Windows 2000 PRO. The RIS is a CD Based install with no RIPrep.

Thanks
