After computer is “ON” about 5 minutes, my desktop icons become unstable. When the mouse pointer is moved around, the icons swap positions with each other etc. The titles don’t change, but each time the mouse moves some of the icons just keep changing positions on the desktop. I deleted the shelllcon cache file and restarted, but that didn’t help. I ran the windows 98 system file checker and it found and replaced some corrupted files. Still didn’t solve problem. Everything else seems to operateOK. If you look at the C: drive with explorer or my computer etc. this doesn’t happen. It only happens on the desktop. Virus Scan didn’t find any problem. I’ve never seen this problem in my 15 years of computing. Any help would be appreciated. I’m considering a clean re-install of win98, as a
last resort.
