device manager

Accidentally turned off my display adapter in device manager. I can reboot but can only get to the setup screen. Windows starts to load and then blank. Screen says it has a signal but it is blank.

Safe Mode

Boot into Safe Mode.

Then select the standard resolution in display properties.

Re-boot into Windows, and Windows should find and install your display adapter.

START BUTTON (Next to Alt button)
S Settings
C Control Panel
D (2 Times) Gets to Display ICON
Enter Opens Display Properties
Cntl/TAB (4 Times) Gets to Settings Tab
TAB (3 Times) Gets to Advanced Button
ENTER Opens Menu
Cntl/TAB Opens Adapter Tab
ENTER or P Opens Properties in Adapter Tab
TAB Gets to Device Usage
Up Arrow Key (or U)Selects Enable Device
TAB Selects OK
ENTER Accepts Change
TAB (2 Times) Selects OK in Adapter Tab
ENTER Accepts Change
TAB Selects OK in Settings Tab
ENTER Accepts Change
ENTER Wait for shutdown
Initiate Startup with CPU On-Button.

Otherwise, I recommend you use WinXP disc and use the recovery panel to make changes to the display adapter utilization.
