DHCP Server IP range settings

by jionghwa . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

We have a private Class A NT4 network, with 2 gateways and approx 200 systems. All client systems are DHCP enabled. Everything is fine. Recently, I am wondering if it is possible to configure our only DHCP server to dispense 2 ranges of IP addressese.g 10.70.1.1 to 10.70.2.254 and 10.80.1.1 to 10.80.2.254 in the following manner.

The first range is meant for a specific group of users while the second for another diff group. Each group is supposed to have its own unique gateway; with everything being the same; eg. WINS settings.

I tried but the DHCP server refuses to allow me to set up another scope of diff IP range with the same Subnet mask of 255.0.0.0.

Any advise will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
