Dial up connection disconnects

My dialup connection (56K)will dialup & connect fine but, after 20 or 30 secs, it will disconnect for no reason. My modem log tells me that the remote server has servered the connection. I can connect to the same server on a 33.6K connection with no problems. Any ideas?
