Today the Best Directory Software platform is definitely WordPress and the fastest growing plugin with the greatest feature list and support is our solution : GeoDirectory.

If for any reasons you can’t use WordPress, because your company doesn’t let you being open source or for any other reasons, in my opinion there are only 3 other solutions:

      1) eDirectory is a very mature, with a great features list, not so nice design though and the price is literally absurd. In addition if you want to customize it it will come even more expensive.

      2) Brilliant Directory is a SAAS solution only, the price makes it very difficult to start profitable directories. Either you already have a revenue stream or you’ll struggle. Don’t take my word for this, but that of its users: Brilliant Directories Review

      3) phpmydirectory is a very mature solution and the price isn’t excessive, but i think since the raise of WordPress the project lost traction and made the lead developer slow down with the addition of new features. It’s only updated twice per year on average.
